  4. loss, muscular wasting, enlargement of the spleen and abdominal distention
  5. caused from collection of fluid.
  6. CAUSES. In most cases this occurs in middle-aged men from chronic alcoholism
  7. Other causes may include malnutrition, syphilis, congestive heart failure,
  8. severe viral hepatitis and biliary tract obstruction.
  9. TREATMENT. High protein diet, abstinence from alcohol, multivitamins &
  10.  medication.
